Masha de Roo
Masha de Roo is a Dutch artist. After studying graphics design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, she pursued further education as an Illustrator at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam, where she earned her BFA in illustration.
Masha de Roo draws inspiration from unexpected events and the symbolism of the subconscious, infusing her art with captivating depth and meaning. Blurring the boundaries between art and the dynamic world, her pieces immerse viewers in a realm of wonder and profound emotions. Infused with powerful symbols, her artworks act as bridges, connecting art with the vibrant energy of the present. Exploring diverse themes like popular culture, global affairs, and personal experiences, Masha's work invites introspection through intricately woven symbol-laden narratives and figures.
She loves blurring the lines between traditional techniques and exploring new ways to create. The thrill of experimenting with various materials and techniques fuels her creativity and keeps her inspired.
In addition to her work as an artist, she also teaches workshops and works as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, and photographer for books and CD covers. As a concept artist, she has been involved in a number of cutting-edge projects and concepts, showcasing her versatility and commitment to exploring new horizons and is a testament to her ability to bring her unique vision to life.
